The Policies listed on the Town of Stewiacke web page are not the official copy of the original documents. They are placed on the website for the general information of visitors to the site. From time to time there may be amendments and changes to the wording in various clauses. The Town of Stewiacke has established a number of policies since its incorporation. The objectives of the Policies of Council are usually the result of short and long-term planning sessions on certain Municipal issues. The Town of Stewiacke strives to establish its Policies in a proactive rather than reactive environment. As a general principle, it is much more effective to enact Policies at times when there is no strong issue under debate on a given topic.
The current Policies have been put in place to offer objective direction to staff in its administrative and implementation of Council decisions.
