Notice of Virtual Public Hearing
Amendments to Stewiacke’s Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law
Stewiacke Town Council intends to consider, and if deemed advisable, adopt three separate amendments to the Town’s Planning documents. The amendments are as follows:
1. Amend the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to:
• Permit ground floor residential uses in the Downtown Commercial (C-2) Zone; and
• Require the construction of a fence along the rear and/or side yards on lots on which a multiple unit residential development is proposed where such lots abut the railway line.
2. Amend the Land Use By-law by rezoning to rezone the property with PID# 20253753 (shown below) from the Rural Residential (R-4) Zone to the General Residential (R-2) zone.

3. Amend the Land Use By-law by adding the Use “Commercial storage” to the list of permitted uses in the Rural Residential (R-4) Zone.
A virtual public hearing on these amendments will be held on Thursday, August 13th at 6:45 pm. The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments from the public on the proposed amendments.
