What is my Tax Rate?
Residential the rate is $1.695 per $100 of assessment.
The Fire Rate is $0.10 per $100 assessment
For Commercial the rate is $3.41 per $100 of assessment.
When can I expect my tax bill?
All property owners and businesses will receive their Interim Tax Bill on April 30th of the current year, and the Final Tax Bill will be issued August 31st of the current year. The Interim Tax Bill is based on 50% of the Assessment.Assessment changes will not be reflected until the Final Tax bill in August.
When can I expect my Water Bill?
Water bills are sent out quarterly: March, June, September and December
Why do we pay a water deposit?
The Nova Scotia Utility Review Board requires the Town of Stewiacke Water Utility to charge a refundable deposit in the amount of $231.42. The Nova Scotia Utility Review Board is the regulatory body for all utilities.

Base Rate for 3" meter is $664.51
Base Rate for 2" meter is $332.93
Base Rate for 1 1/2" meter is $208.59
Base Rate for 1" meter is $104.95
Base Rate for 3/4" meter is $63.53
5/8 meter (most residential homes) $42.81
The per consumption amount is $7.29 per 1000 gallons.
Water Haulers Rate $10.00 per 1,000 gallons
How is my Waste Water Bill Calculated?
Waste Water Bills are sent quarterly with the water bills. The base rate is calculated by the size of your water meter.
5/8" Meter --- $65.87
1" Meter--- $131.74
2" Meter --- $263.48
3" Meter --- $395.22

Where do I register my dog?
All dog owners are required to have their dog(s) registered by April 1st of each year. Registration may be completed at the Town Office. The renewal fee is $15.00 per year. Dog registration is an easy way to ensure that your dog is returned to you if you ever lose your animal. It also may keep you from being liable for any damage your dog may do to someone else's property.
